ACU Wreath Tutorial!
Items you will need:
- Styrofoam circle. (You can find them at Walmart or any crafting store. The size is up to you.)
- Hot glue gun, and hot glue.
- Fabric. (I used an old pair of my husbands ACU pants, and some yellow fabric I found at Walmart.)
- Yellow ribbon. (Or any color you would like.)
- Small wooden skewer. (You can get them at Walmart or any grocery store or crafting store.)
- Any of your service members tapes that you might like to add to the wreath. (i.e. name tape, U.S. Army tape... etc.)
Cut all of the fabric into to 3 inch by 1.5 inch rectangles.
Place the skewer in the canter of the fabric rectangle and pulls the sides of the fabric up.
Place a small drop of hot glue on the Styrofoam where you would like your fabric placed.
Push the fabric down into the Styrofoam.
Continue this to cover the entire Styrofoam circle.
MAKE SURE THE FABRIC IS PLACED TIGHTLY!
Make sure that the fabric is placed tightly together, so that there is no Styrofoam showing.
If
you would like a bow you can place one on the top part of the wreath,
or you can place 2 ribbons on the back of the wreath and hot glue a bow
to the top of the 2 ribbons. (As shown in the picture below.)
Please be patient when making
this wreath, it takes a long time to make. However, the end product is
well worth it. I left my ends of my fabric fringed because it looks
weathered and tattered, and I like it like that. You can take the time
to sew all of the edges for a cleaner look if you would like.
Hope this helps everyone that is wanting to know how to make an ACU wreath!
Love and support to all of our troops! God Bless!
