Holiday Wreaths

These ones are easy to make.

Items you will need:
  • Wreath
  • Ornaments (Any ones/colors that you would like. I usually get mine at the dollar store)
  • Ribbon (Any color/size that you would like)
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue
Instructions:
  • Hot glue the ornaments to the wreath in whatever order/design that you would like.
  • Place a bow on the wreath with hot glue.
  • Clean up all of the hot glue strands off of the wreath.

Here are some pics of the ones that I have done!

Decorative Yarn Balls Tutorial

Decorative Yarn Balls

Items you will need:

  • A few different colors of yarn. (I used 4 colors, and I used bright colors.)
  • A container large enough to dip handfuls of yarn into.
  • Elmer's glue
  • Water
  • Balloons
  • Something to set the balls on once you are finished wrapping them in yarn. (I used cling wrap or foil)

Instructions:
  • Blow up your balloons until they are the size and shape that you would like the yarn balls to be.
  • Mix glue and water together. There is no kind of measurements to it, you just need to water the glue down. It can't be too think.
  • Pull a large piece of yarn off of the spool... One piece is going to be your entire decorative ball, so how much you want is up to you. (Wrap it around your hand as you are pulling it off)
  • Completely soak the yarn in the glue/water mixture.
  • After it is completely soaked, squeeze it to ring it out as much as you can.
  • Choose your starting point on the balloon and just start wrapping the yarn around it. (There is no rhyme or reason to the wrapping, just make it look how you would like it too look.)
  • After you wrap the balloon, squeeze the yarn out again. Be careful not to pop the balloon.
  • Continue to do this with as many balloons and yarn colors that you would like.
  • ***You can also wrap different colors onto one balloon if you would like multi colored yarn balls.***
  • Once you are done wrapping all of your balloons, place them on your foil or cling wrap to dry. (Drying takes at least 24 hours. If the yarn does not feel completely dry and hard after 24 hours, let them dry some more. Also you may need to "flip" them around a few times so that the spot sitting on the surface can dry as well.)
  • After they are completely dry, pop the balloon with a pin and carefully pull it out of the yarn ball.
  • Place out as decorations!

Keep in mind that this is a very messy craft. It is fun and well worth it though! Hope you enjoyed making them!!

ACU Wreath Tutorial

ACU Wreath Tutorial!

Items you will need:
  • Styrofoam circle. (You can find them at Walmart or any crafting store. The size is up to you.)
  • Hot glue gun, and hot glue.
  • Fabric. (I used an old pair of my husbands ACU pants, and some yellow fabric I found at Walmart.)
  • Yellow ribbon. (Or any color you would like.)
  • Small wooden skewer. (You can get them at Walmart or any grocery store or crafting store.)
  • Any of your service members tapes that you might like to add to the wreath. (i.e. name tape, U.S. Army tape... etc.)

  • Cut all of the fabric into to 3 inch by 1.5 inch rectangles.
  • Place the skewer in the canter of the fabric rectangle and pulls the sides of the fabric up.
  • Place a small drop of hot glue on the Styrofoam where you would like your fabric placed.
  • Push the fabric down into the Styrofoam.
  • Continue this to cover the entire Styrofoam circle.

  •                                          MAKE SURE THE FABRIC IS PLACED TIGHTLY!

  • Make sure that the fabric is placed tightly together, so that there is no Styrofoam showing.
  • If you would like a bow you can place one on the top part of the wreath, or you can place 2 ribbons on the back of the wreath and hot glue a bow to the top of the 2 ribbons. (As shown in the picture below.)

  • Please be patient when making this wreath, it takes a long time to make. However, the end product is well worth it. I left my ends of my fabric fringed because it looks weathered and tattered, and I like it like that. You can take the time to sew all of the edges for a cleaner look if you would like.
Hope this helps everyone that is wanting to know how to make an ACU wreath!

Love and support to all of our troops! God Bless!
